The automatic film wrapping machine is an automatic machine designed to wrap bales, either square or round, of any type of compressed material, with a plastic stretch film.
The machine wraps the bale by rotating it around two axes, horizontal and vertical, and completely wraps it assuring the corners are sealed thanks to the use of a 750mm-high film.
Using this film assures shorter wrapping times and greater overlap of the wrapping layers.
The combination of these factors, rotation on two axes and 750mm rolls, result in greater guarantee of bale sealing and tightness, in order to prevent leaks of liquids, odours and solid materials in the various handling stages.
These rotations guarantee proper overlapping of the film, especially on the corners.
The rotations between vertical and horizontal axis are independent. It is possible to change the rotation percentages from the control panel, to decide the degree of overlapping and film consumption based on the material to be wrapped. The rotation percentages are controlled by an electronic control system.
The FM 120 M film wrapper is designed to be installed out of the line, with independent operation from the baling press. The bale must be loaded on the rotary table by using a forklift truck with grippers. Once it is placed in the centre – great precision is not necessary – the operator starts the automatic film wrapping cycle.
After a preset number of rounds too complete winding, the machine stops, the film is cut with a mechanical system and its edge is held for the next wrapping cycle. The bale is now ready to be removed from the wrapping rollers and taken into temporary storage.

In order to guarantee the integrity of the wrapping protecting the material contained it is possible to choose and set up the wrapping level, the degree of overlapping, the consumption of stretch film and its grammage, based on the number of handling processes that the bale must undergo before final storage.
The start of the wrapping cycle is given by pressing the cycle start button on the control panel, while the machine stops automatically at the end of wrapping.
To reduce operating times, as an option, an industrial remote control can be provided, to allow the operator to start the cycle without getting off the forklift truck. In order to assure the utmost operator safety, the command can only be given from a preset position (oriented remote control) that assures a wide view of the surrounding area.
After any emergency stop, start is only permitted after inspection by the operator.
Perimeter safety barriers can be installed around the machine, interlocked to a safety light curtain, that stops the automatic operation of the machine in the event of entering the danger zone. In that case one side remains open for loading and unloading functions.
The FM 120 M machine is a sturdy machine built to work in a variety of conditions.
The machine can be moved by a simple forklift truck, and can be transported with a normal van driven with a car licence. It consists of a single mono-block that can be lifted from below.
